It was “Chilly” in “Chile,” So I Ate “Chili”

I don’t usually see these soundalikes misused, but nothing wrong with a reminder, for if I can stop someone from making a future mistake, it will have been worth it.

Chile is the South American nation. It’s 2,670 miles north to south by only 217 miles at its widest point east to west.

Chilly means “noticeably cold.”

Chili is a thick sauce of meat, sometimes beans and sometimes peppers.

Those peppers are called chiles.

Until next time! Use the right words!
