Turning a Typo Humorous (At Least I Hope So)

As part of my certification to officiate soccer, I must attend monthly meetings in which I receive about a hour of instruction.

The other night, I was at one such session and I read the following multiple-choice question: In the locker room at halftime, the referee realizes he blew the whistle to end the half four minutes too soon. What should the referee do?

The choice that caught my attention was this: Consider the fist half finished.

That’s exactly what it said. Not first half, but fist half.

Which made me wonder, How to you make half a fist? Position your fingers so they form a C? Position your fingers so they form an O? Is a hand automatically half a fist?

I’m just saying…

Fortunately, this choice was not the correct answer. Leave me a note if you want to know or guess the correct answer.

Until next time! Use the right words!
