Taking the Opposite Approach to Words

I went to my neighborhood Del Taco. On the door that led to the working area was a sign. In the past, it would have said “Employees only,” but since Del Taco has undergone major renovations (in the decoration and philosophy), the sign said, “Choppers, Grillers, Shredders Enter Here.”

Usually, I prefer avoiding slang terms, but being in a silly mood at that moment, I asked the woman working the counter, “You’re allowing motorcyclists, auto body shop workers and skateboarders back there?”

She didn’t get it.

Until next time! Use the right words!

It’s here! My début book, “If You Experience Death, Please Call: And Other Fatal Mistakes We Make With Language” is out and available on Amazon. Order now for just $14.95. Contact me on my website to reserve your copy or Order here.
