About using the right words

Look around the Internet and you’ll see how the English language has been mangled, often beyond recognition. It doesn’t have to be that way.

There is nothing better than being able to communicate clearly, concisely and accurately. To do so, one needs to know the right words to use (hence: the name of this blog) and the right time to use them.

As a journalist and writer, it is my job to know the right words and when to use them. Since I am sick and tired of seeing improper usage online, I will be sharing with you numerous examples of commonly misused words and what should be used.

Check back often to see yet another example of my de-mangling the English language.

  1. You asked previously for suggestions? I keep seeing/hearing people using “nerve wrecking” and it drives me insane. Also, those who think that wary and weary are interchangeable.

  2. Hey, Lee –

I hate to be a pain about this, but can you please edit your reply to my comment dated March 8 of last year? It has my email address and IP address, and I have been signed up for a lot of spam stuff lately. I’m not saying this is where it’s coming from, but it is definitely a possibility.

    Thank you.
